Before you can use Wi-Fi calling, you need to make sure that your device is compatible! Smart phones such as Android or iPhone include Wi-Fi calling however, not every make and model supports calling over Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi calling allows you to send and receive text messages or phone calls completely through a Wi-Fi connection, rather than relying on a mobile network signal.
4G calling, also known as “Voice over LTE”, allows you to make calls using data. The main benefit of 4G calling is its high-definition audio quality compared to standard network calls. When it’s turned on alongside Wi-Fi calling, your phone will automatically move between Wi-Fi and 4G data to keep the call connected.
When you are on a Wi-Fi network and try to make a call or send a text, your phone will automatically select the best network to use. So if you have a poor phone signal but strong Wi-Fi, you’ll automatically use Wi-Fi calling. If you have no Wi-Fi connection, Wi-Fi calling will not work.
No, Wi-Fi calling does not use any mobile data.
Wi-Fi calling is a free feature for all customers on our new network. You won’t have to pay anything extra to use it. Our standard call and text rates apply when using Wi-Fi calling. You can make unlimited calls and texts by purchasing a monthly bundle.
You don’t have to do anything to set up Wi-Fi calling! It’ll automatically be available to you as an Asda mobile customer.
If you are a new customer, you will be able to use Wi-Fi calling 7 days after activation.
You can turn Wi-Fi calling on and off through your phone’s settings. This varies depending on your make and model. By default, most phones will have Wi-Fi calling disabled as standard.
Unfortunately we are not able to offer Wi-Fi calling on the London Underground at this time.
Yes, by connecting to Wi-Fi your mobile phone is no longer using the battery to search for a network connection which drains your battery life.
The minimum speed required for voice calls is 2 Mbps, and for video calls it's 10 Mbps. Our speeds range from up to 2 Mbps, 10 Mbps, all the way up to 150 Mbps.
VoLTE Roaming is also known as 4G Calling abroad. 4G Calling abroad lets you make and receive calls over 4G while roaming and is the same as 4G Calling in the UK. 4G Calling abroad is available in selected destinations with a compatible device.
